IGS Corporate Partners Program

The Essential Role of Corporate Partners

For 90 years, the Institute of Governmental Studies (IGS) at the University of California, Berkeley has served as the University's primary center for advancing interdisciplinary research and public service in American and California politics, government, and public policy. Established in 1919, IGS serves students, faculty, researchers, policy makers, business leaders, and the public in expanding the understanding of the political process and training future leaders to run political, economic, and social institutions with competence and ethical values. IGS is a nonpartisan think tank and bridge between academia and the practical world of politics, policy, and the press.

Maintaining this level of excellence requires a strong, ongoing partnership with corporate leaders. IGS values its ties to the business community and is committed to seeking new ways to broaden these relationships. Corporate Partners and dedicated alumni provide critical financial support that allows IGS to strengthen programs and maximize educational, research, and extra-curricular opportunities for our students. Corporate support can be used to provide new opportunities for students, bring top leaders to campus, upgrade our technology infrastructure, support thought-provoking speaker series, launch new initiatives in responsible public administration, and help retain top Berkeley faculty.

Corporate Partners provide support of specific programs and initiatives at the IGS beginning at the $10,000 level. For this annual tax-deducible donation you receive recognition on events, websites and publications, access to top talent in our students and faculty, and invitations to special events. The IGS Gala, our signature annual event, celebrates members of the Berkeley community and our continued status as an elite research center. This formal affair, hosted in San Francisco, honors individuals with the IGS Lifetime Achievement Award and the Distinguished Young Alumni Award to recognize persons who have made a sustaining contribution to public affairs. IGS encourages corporate partners as well as friends and alumni to support the event as table sponsors beginning at the $5,000 level. Each table sponsor receives ten seats at the event as well as recognition in the program and other IGS publications.

We hope you will seriously consider one of the many opportunities to partner with us as we work toward expanding knowledge, educating new generations, and making the world a better place.
