The Library offers orientation programs and will give classroom presentations upon request. Recent course research guides are available online.
Please e-mail your course reserve list to Circulation Supervisor Paul King at pking@berkeley.edu. Submit your course reserves requests to the library before or at the beginning of the semester to allow adequate time for processing, and be aware that some materials may need to be recalled before they can be processed and available. Please include title, author, and edition of the item.
In some cases, we may be able to purchase additional copies of titles.
Please DO NOT check out any titles from other libraries and bring them to us to put on reserve. We will ask you to return them. Our campus-wide library circulation system requires that we order those books through campus mail.
If you own a book that you’d like to put on reserve, please email Paul King at pking@berkeley.edu. We will need to put barcodes, sensor tape, and hold tags on all the books.
30 items per course
Because of our relatively small reading room and our limited hours, the IGS Library can only hold reserves for classes with 100 students or fewer. If your class is larger than this, we recommend putting titles on reserve at the Moffitt Library: http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/services/for_users/reserves.html
We are happy to assist with this process. Please contact Paul King (pking@berkeley.edu) for information.
If you would like to make electronic course reserve materials available, you can place them on bSpace, an environment that enables instructors to create and store course-related materials online. bSpace is available to students 24-hours a day, seven days a week. For details, see this information page.
