Darius Anderson is CEO and Founder of Platinum Advisors, LLC a full service government affairs firm that ranks in the top five of California government advocacy companies. Platinum Advisors provides lobbying, real estate project development, procurement, public affairs and strategic consulting to corporations, governments, trade associations and non-profit groups. Darius is advisor to many of California’s highest-raking political and business leaders; some clients include the Screen Actors Guild, UPS, Napa Valley Vintners, Pfizer, Microsoft, AT&T, Estee Lauder, and Orange, San Bernardino and Alameda Counties.
In addition, Darius Anderson is also the Founder and CEO of of Kenwood Investments, a California Opportunity Fund seeking new ventures to build upon the unique brand of California. He has spearheaded a series of innovative ventures and private/public partnerships in the high-tech, real-estate, media and retail fields. Currently, a key project is the development of a green, luxury, boutique hotel in Sonoma, CA, a $30-million, 59-room, sustainably designed facility. Darius led the development of Treasure Island, one of the nation’s most environmentally friendly and technologically advanced urban developments expected to create 2,000 permanent jobs and house 13,000 residents. In addition, Darius acquired the Aquarium of the Bay and transitioned it to non-profit status under the leadership of The Bay Institute; funded a landmark Seven Gill Shark Study in partnership with the University of California, Davis; and developed a Climate Change Exhibit featuring land animals. Moreover, he acquired Ramekins Culinary School and conducted an overhaul of all facilities, operations, and marketing leading to the site’s Landscape Contractors Association Judge’s Award for 2010. In 2012, Darius founded Sonoma Media Investments, LLC and is majority owner of the Sonoma Index Tribune.
Philanthropy is important to Darius, and he is involved in a variety of charitable activities. He serves as the Chairman of the National Advisory Council at the Institute of Governmental Studies at University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Jackie Robinson Foundation, and the George Washington University Graduate School of Public Management’s Council on American Politics, Californians Building Bridges and the Green Music Center at Sonoma State University. Darius also is a lecturer with the UC Berkeley Travers Political Science Department.
Darius is happily married to Sarah Anderson, owner of French antique store Chateau Sonoma, and father to son Tyge. He is a passionate art collector and owns world-class collections of both baseball and Jack London memorabilia.
