IGS Faculty Advisory Committee

Charge of the IGS Faculty Advisory Committee

The general responsibilities of the IGS Advisory Committee are as follows:

• To perform an oversight function; to work with the ORU Director in the formation of unit objectives, policies and programs, including questions of extramural support, space, budget, and other resource allocations; to review the unit's activities and recommend changes in direction and emphasis as well as new programs of action.
• To encourage interdisciplinary faculty and graduate student participation in the activities of the unit; to promote close articulation of the unit's programs with teaching departments and ORU's in related fields.
• To review the unit's Annual Report and provide an assessment of the unit's activities to the Vice Chancellor for Research.
• To provide an evaluation of the unit's effectiveness to an ad hoc review committee at the time of the unit's 5-year review.
• In the event of a Director search, to make nominations to a search committee.
• To meet twice a year, at the call of the Chair, in consultation with the ORU Director.
