STEPHEN DODSON

Stephen Dodson serves as the chief operating officer of Parnassus Investments, working in firm management and primarily on marketing. He started at Parnassus Investments in 2002 and has worked in a number of areas within the firm, including investment research, shareholder services, technology and compliance.

Prior to Parnassus, he worked for the venture capital group of Advent International, a private equity firm. Mr. Dodson covered the software and communications sectors, identifying early-stage companies for venture investment. Previously, he worked in the investment banking group of Morgan Stanley in New York and Menlo Park, covering communication service providers.

Mr. Dodson is also a member of Full Circle Fund, a San Francisco Bay Area philanthropy group. Through Full Circle, he works with schools and education groups on improving public education. In 2006, Mr. Dodson was selected as a delegate by the office of United States Representative Nancy Pelosi to the 2006 National Summit on Retirement Savings, a quadrennial summit on increasing the savings and retirement planning of Americans.

Mr. Dodson has a BS in business administration from the University of California at Berkeley. Originally from San Francisco, Mr. Dodson attended Lowell High School and other public schools in San Francisco.
