Shaudi Falamaki Fulp joined the Chevron Corporation in April 2009 as an Advocate in the company's Policy, Government, and Public Affairs division in Sacramento, CA. In this role she develops strategies and advocates on a broad range of issues before the California Legislature, Governor's Administration, and various state agencies and commissions. Beyond her public policy work, she is also involved in developing broader political strategies as they are related to campaigns and elections.
Prior to Chevron, Mrs. Fulp represented clients with interests in transportation, trade, land use/development, energy, environmental, and tax policies at California's premier advocacy firm, KP Public Affairs. Her experience encompasses a diverse panoply of political negotiations, including the development and implementation of the 2006 transportation infrastructure and housing bonds, Governor Schwarzenegger's Goods Movement Action Plan, and the state's burgeoning Green Chemistry program. In this role she also served as an advisor to the Mayor of Sacramento Kevin Johnson's Transition Team.
Mrs. Fulp was a political correspondent based in California before joining the lobbying corps. Her career in television news includes reporting and producing for Bay-Area based stations KTVU (Fox), KABC (ABC), KPIX (CBS), and CNN's Larry King Live. Her reports on the 2003 Gubernatorial Recall Election and Arnold Schwarzenegger's governorship were broadcast on Los Angeles' Fox-11 (KTTV), CNN's Lou Dobbs Tonight and CBS Nightly News. A sports enthusiast, she also co-hosted a weekly Fox Sports Net show focused on college football and basketball, while a student at UC-Berkeley.
Mrs. Fulp was recently elected to the Board of the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce and has joined the LEED (Linking Education and Economic Development) organization, a partnership of business, education, community and government focused on aligning educational resources with the region's workforce needs. She also serves on the National Advisory Council for the Institute of Government Studies (IGS), a research program focused on policy and public policy in the state and nation.
She is an active member of the UC-Berkeley Alumni Association, serving on various scholarship committees and as a guest lecturer at her alma mater. In addition, she volunteers her time at local high schools through the Junior Achievement, Women in Government, and Capitol Focus programs, as a guest lecturer and mentor to students studying politics and economics.
Mrs. Fulp earned a double major with honors from the University of California-Berkeley, where she served as one of the University's twenty Senators for the Associated Students of the University of California.
