About Berkeley Public Policy press
Overview
The Berkeley Public Policy Press (BP3) is the publishing imprint of the Institute of Governmental Studies. BP3 publishes scholarly work on national, state, and local government, politics, public policy, and public administration. IGS authors include graduate students, faculty, research associates, visiting scholars, and colleagues in academic institutions around the world.
IGS books, monographs, working papers, and newsletter are edited for a wide-ranging audience that includes academics, elected officials, journalists, and public administrators, as well as the general public. The BP3 publishes original research, analysis, essays, and edited volumes.
Published quarterly, the Public Affairs Report (PAR) focuses on recent research, current seminars, and news of interest to scholars, journalists, political operatives, public officials, and interested citizens. It is sent free on request.
IGS Working Papers provide quick dissemination of draft reports and papers, preliminary analyses, and papers with a limited audience. They are reproduced unedited from the author's pages, and recent papers are available online at no cost.

Ordering IGS Publications
Business Hours
8am - 12pm and 1pm - 4pm, Monday-Friday
You may order by telephone at (510) 642-1428 or by fax at (510) 642-5537. We require prepayment on all orders. Please make checks payable to UC Regents. We accept checks, Visa, and MasterCard. We require the following information to process credit card orders:
- Type of Card — Visa or MasterCard
- Name as it appears on your credit card
- Credit card number and expiration date
- Billing address and telephone number
- Shipping address
- Quantity and title of publication requested
Sales Tax
California residents please add appropriate sales tax.
Shipping and Handling
For 4th Class, $6 for the first book and $1 for each additional book. Allow four weeks for delivery.
For additional services (UPS, Next Day, 2nd Day, etc.) or international shipping rates, please call (510) 642-1428 for exact charges.
Booksellers and Wholesalers
We offer a 20% discount for bookstores, wholesalers, and bulk purchases. All orders go UPS Ground; please call for shipping information. We will calculate shipping costs and send you a prepayment invoice.
We maintain a no returns policy. The only exception being if a title is sent to you by mistake, or if your order is damaged. In these cases, we will send a replacement copy or credit your account. Please specify when returning item.
