Salon Gala 2012

The IGS National Advisory Council will feature U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) at its annual Salon Dinner on Thursday, April 12, 2012, from 6 to 9 pm in the Julia Morgan Ballroom of the Mercantile Exchange Building (15th floor) in San Francisco. Senator Durbin is the current Assistant Majority Leader of the US Senate. He will be in conversation with Peter Hart, Lead Pollster for the NBC/WSJ Poll, with opening remarks by UC Berkeley Chancellor Robert J. Birgeneau.

Seating at the IGS Salon Dinner is limited. Please see below for further details. The dress code for this event is business casual. Tickets will be held at the registration table located at the first floor lobby entrance to the ballroom for pickup on the day of the event beginning at 6 pm.

In addition, the Institute will honor two award recipients. The IGS Distinguished Service Award will be given to Mervin Field, founder of the Field Poll. The Bill & Patrice Brandt Alumni Leadership Award will be presented to Kevin Johnson ('87), the current Mayor of Sacramento.

Please join us in celebrating Mervin Field, recipient of the The Darius and Sarah Anderson Distinguished Service Award. He is the founder of the Field Poll, California's leading survey of public opinion.

Kevin Johnson

Kevin Johnson ('87) will receive the Bill and Patrice Brandt Alumni Leadership Award. Johnson is the current mayor of Sacramento.

Mr. Field and Mayor Johnson will receive these awards during the Gala event.

6:00-6:45 pm - Cocktail reception (Daniel Burnham Bar & Lounge)

6:45-7:45 pm - Talk by Sen. Durbin and Peter Hart, with opening remarks by Chancellor Birgeneau

7:45-9:00 pm - Dinner and awards ceremony

Ticket prices will be sold as the following (all tickets include cocktail reception, dinner, lecture, and complimentary valet parking):

  • Individual (general admission): $250 per guest
  • Blue sponsor (groups): $3,000 per table (10 seats)
  • Gold sponsor (corporate): $5,000 per table (10 seats)
  • Title sponsor (corporate): $7,500 per table (10 seats)
