UK Election Wrap-Up Luncheon with Lord Patten

Friday, May 8, 2015
12:00pm to 1:00pm

Please join the Anglo-American Studies Program for a UK Election Wrap-Up with Lord Patten of Barnes. The 2015 UK elections happen on May 7th, but most pundits think that no single party in the country will be able to form a government alone. On the day after the elections, Lord Patten of Barnes will help us sort the election results out and understand what the elections hold for the future of the UK.

The New York Times describes Patten as "a Liberal Conservative With a Taste for Irony." As Chairman of the Conservative Party, he led his party and John Major to a surprise victory in 1992. He is the current Chancellor of Oxford University and the last British governor of Hong Kong.

Lunch will be provided.
