Bio/CV:

Brianna Vasquez (she/her)

Brianna Vasquez is a proud Mexican-Peruvian American from Rancho Cucamonga, CA, studying Legal Studies and English at UC Berkeley. Growing up in a bicultural household shaped her understanding of the challenges and strengths that come with navigating multiple identities. Her family's immigrant experience instilled in her a deep appreciation for resilience, hard work, and the power of community.

Her dual focus on Legal Studies and English reflects her belief that language and law are both powerful tools for advocacy and change. Her passion for community engagement led her to serve as a Berkeley United Literacy in Development mentor through the Berkeley Public Service Center, where she worked directly with students in Berkeley and Oakland to expand their educational opportunities. Currently, she is a student assistant for Berkeley Law's Field Placement Program within the pro bono department and a caseworker at the ASUC Student Legal Clinic, where she provides legal research for low-income communities. Through these experiences, she has seen firsthand how storytelling and legal frameworks can work together to uplift marginalized voices and address systemic inequities.

Driven by a commitment to her community and a desire to create more just systems, Brianna is eager to gain hands-on experience in government and public policy. She hopes to use her education and lived experience to advocate for policies that reflect the needs of diverse communities, particularly those who have been historically under-represented.
