Sabrina Avenido (She/her)
Sabrina is a proud daughter of immigrant parents from the Philippines and first generation Pinay college student. Obtaining her B.A. in Asian American and Asian Diaspora Studies and minor in Public Policy, she has dedicated her higher education to understanding and expanding upon the histories of Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities and applying them to the contemporary contexts through which policy and law shape their realities.
Born and raised in the Bay Area, Sabrina's passion for ethnic studies and empowering AANHPI communities through policy research is not just an academic pursuit— it is a collective effort alongside the villages that have raised her both in the diaspora and the Philippines. Bridging her experiences as an Ethnic Studies scholar, student leader within UC Berkeley's Pilipinx community, and former Cal-in-Sacramento Fellow, she aims to have a career in public service and academia.
