Department:
2026 Cal-in-Sacramento
Bio/CV:

Harrison Dargahi (he/him)

Harrison Dargahi is a fourth-year Afghan-Iranian transfer student at the University of California, Berkeley, where he studies Political Science and Russian Literature. Raised in a mixed household in Southern California, Harrison’s interests lie in public service, immigration advocacy, and supporting the communities that have shaped him.

Over the years, Harrison has interned with political campaigns, worked in government offices, and mentored newly arrived Afghan refugees. Following graduation from his BA degree, Harrison plans to apply to law school, specializing in immigration law, to advocate for vulnerable communities, especially Afghans, who face legal and governmental barriers. This past spring, Harrison interned for Councilmember Cecilia Lunaparra’s office, where he and fellow interns developed a research proposal to address Berkeley’s need for safer streets. He also gained valuable experience as a summer Planning Intern for the County of Ventura, where he learned the importance of preserving local landmarks and applying practical planning strategies to County development.

Harrison is excited to intern at the state level as a Cal-in-Sacramento fellow. His commitment to public service and his background encourage him to create meaningful changes through government.
