Adrian Garcia (He/Him)

Adrian Garcia is a community-driven student leader whose work is grounded in the values of Latinidad, social betterment, and political representation. Born and raised within Southern California, he grew up surrounded by Latino culture and identity, alongside witnessing the systemic barriers Latino families face, from housing insecurity to the limited accessibility within essential resources. These experiences show his commitment to serving his community through cultural pride and empathy.

Adrian strives to bridge policy and the lived experiences that further intend to uplift Latino narratives. Early involvement within the City of Ontario’s Teen Action Committee allowed for firsthand understanding how local initiatives influence community wellbeing. Later, working as a Field Representative and Policy Intern for San Bernardino County Supervisor Jesse Armendarez, engaging with residents, analyzed city council agendas and policies, and ensured the community members felt both seen and heard in the county processes. Prioritizing that public opinion was upheld in the political legislation of the county.

At UC Berkeley, Adrian serves within different student organizations uplifting the Latino community both on and off campus. As one of the Co-Executive Leads of Brown Issues, where he organizes political education workshops, mobilizes youth, and advocates for culturally responsive policies that benefit Latino communities. Recently, assisting in the increased need toward voter participation and registration in the California special election. Conducting research with Professor Cristina Mora, Adrian explores the structural factors behind low political participation in the Inland Empire and the importance of culturally motivated leadership development and participation.
