Alexa is a senior transfer student at the University of California, Berkeley, majoring in Global Studies with an emphasis in Global Development and minoring in Human Rights. She transferred from Reedley College, where she earned Associate’s degrees in Political Science and Communication Studies.
At UC Berkeley, Alexa is deeply engaged in student leadership. She serves in student government through the Office of the Transfer Representative as Chief of Staff, acts as Chair of the UC Berkeley Transfer Student Caucus, and is the Marketing & Media Lead for the International Relations Council. A proud Central Valley native, she brings the perspective of her community to her work on campus and remains committed to advancing development and empowerment in the region.
This past summer, Alexa interned in Congressman Jim Costa’s district office and served as a legal intern at the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office. These experiences strengthened her commitment to public service and community-centered policy. She aspires to pursue a career in global development and justice, and her renewed appreciation for community development motivated her interest in the Cal in Sacramento fellowship.
