Ava Wang

Job title:
Class of 2026
Department:
2024 Cal-in-Sacramento
Bio/CV:

Ava Wang is a sophomore pursuing simultaneous degrees in conservation and resource studies and music. She hopes to someday provide high-quality, affordable private music lessons to children from low-income families alongside a career in environmental policy. At UC Berkeley, she is involved in both the music and environmental communities. She takes jazz voice lessons and sings in the University Chorus and Golden Bear Voices, and she works for ASUC Eco-Senator Ashi Mishra, the Ruhi Freshwater Ecology Lab, and Cal Zero Waste. Having grown up in the Bay Area, she is passionate about California’s unique position as a global leader in sustainability. Her numerous policy interests are united by her passion for climate policy, as environmental justice inextricably links the climate crisis to issues such as redlining, racial justice, decolonization, and public health. This summer, she hopes to work for an elected official or organization that prioritizes environmental justice alongside climate policy work to combat the climate crisis.
