Genevieve Schweitzer (She/Her)
Genevieve is a senior at UC Berkeley, majoring in American Studies with a concentration in gender, health, and the law. As a student in the dual degree program between UC Berkeley and Sciences Po Paris, her first two years of college were spent in Reims, France. She earned her first bachelor’s degree in Political Humanities, a blend of history, law, and political philosophy. While abroad, Genevieve became involved in transnational feminist activism. She advocated for menstrual equity with a French PERIOD chapter, volunteered with a global organization dedicated to empowering breast cancer survivors, and researched sexual health policies in the UK and Kenya with Days for Girls International.
Genevieve carried this passion for gender equity back to her hometown of Berkeley, where she is the project director for Dr. Kristin Luker’s research about reproductive justice advocacy. She also shares legal and medical resources with local unhoused people as a caseworker at the Youth, Queer, and Trans chapter of the Suitcase Clinic. These experiences have deepened Genevieve’s passion for advancing reproductive justice and gender equity through policy and direct community engagement. She is very excited to continue her feminist public service journey with Cal in Sacramento.
