Heather Podesta guides a bipartisan team as the founder and CEO of Invariant.  Now in its fourteenth year, Invariant is considered one of the nation’s top government relations firms.  Known for her political savvy, substantive policy chops, and commonsense approach, Heather translates Washington for business and business for Washington.  Her work is highlighted in many major media outlets, with profiles in The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post, which quotes a senior Senator remarking that, “Heather is invariably the most knowledgeable person in the room because she's done her homework.”

Heather’s expertise comes from years on Capitol Hill working for Members of Congress on the tax-writing committees. She is known for her generous support of Democratic candidates across the country and provides valued kitchen cabinet counsel to candidates and officeholders alike. She is an avid contemporary art collector. She is a Trustee of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; sits on the National Advisory Council of the Institute of Governmental Studies at UC Berkeley; is a member of the Board of Trustees of Ford’s Theater; and serves on the Washington DC Police Foundation Board.

Heather graduated from the University of California, Berkeley and earned her JD from the University of Virginia School of Law.
