Jasmine Sanchez is a 4th year college student who was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Raised by a single mother and student parent who emphasized the value of education, Jasmine is extremely passionate about advocating for underrepresented communities, particularly in the areas of educational equity and immigrant rights.
Currently, Jasmine is studying Political Science and Public Policy at UC Berkeley. On campus, she serves as the Professional Development Director for the Latine Pre-Law Society, the Undocumented Committee Director at Unidad en Educación, a Federal Government Relations Immigration Policy Lead in the Office of the ASUC External Affairs Vice President, and is an active member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honors Society. Off campus, Jasmine volunteers at NorCal Resist’s Pro Se Asylum Clinic in Sacramento, assisting with I-589 asylum applications, is a Legal Counselor at Legal Aid At Work’s Workers Rights Clinic, and was named a 2024 Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar.
After completing her degree, Jasmine plans to work toward a Juris Doctorate in Immigration Law. Her career goals include becoming an immigration attorney and one day running for public office. Through her work and educational background, Jasmine is committed to building a future where opportunities are both equitable and accessible to all, and she looks forward to making a lasting impact on her community through public service and advocacy.
