Laiza Negrete is the Vice President of Political Affairs for the California Association of REALTORS® (C.A.R.), representing more than 200,000 members statewide. As the organization’s top political strategist and head of its political action committee efforts, she guides C.A.R.’s political engagement across local, state and federal campaigns. In 2026, Capitol Weekly named Negrete No. 41 on its Top 100 list of Sacramento’s most powerful political figures, recognizing her as a leader with a brilliant political mind, a collaborative approach to coalition-building, and the resources and influence to shape major political outcomes in California. The recognition reaffirmed her standing as one of the most consequential behind-the-scenes strategists in state politics. In 2014, she was also named to CalNewsroom’s list of the "Capitol's 100 Best & Brightest" an early acknowledgment of her emergence as a rising political leader.

Negrete is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento, and holds a law degree from the McGeorge School of Law. Her education and experience have fueled her passion for democracy and her belief that government should work for the people, principles that have driven her career and remain central to her work.

Although Negrete often operates behind the scenes, her influence is widely recognized throughout California’s political landscape.
