Bio/CV: 

Layla Goldberg is a senior at the University of California, Berkeley studying Legal Studies and Sociology, with minors in Public Policy and Global Poverty and Practice. She currently works at Bay Area Legal Aid through JusticeCorps, where she supports domestic violence survivors and self-represented litigants by helping them complete legal forms and understand court procedures. Layla also served as a Policy and Programming Intern at the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, where she conducted legislative research, analyzed legal records, and contributed to materials related to the California Racial Justice Act. Her research experience includes observing and coding California parole hearings through UC Berkeley’s Risk Resilience Research Lab. Layla is seeking a Washington, DC internship that involves legal or policy research, government accountability, or civil rights work. She is especially interested in organizations such as the American Civil Liberties Union and the Brennan Center for Justice, where she can deepen her experience analyzing laws, administrative systems, and their impact on marginalized communities.
