Ms. Madeleine (Mady) Deininger earned her BA in Liberal Studies from Stockton State College and her MA in Liberal Studies from Dartmouth College, with a concentration in Comparative Literature and History. During and after her tenure as a graduate student, she worked as a freelance photographer, writer and editor.                                                          

Mady began her career in the fine wine business in 1985 and is currently Founder and President of Kismet Wines, Inc. in Sonoma, CA, where she developed national marketing and sales programs for California and European fine wines. For over 15 years she has been a general partner in Bedrock Vineyards, located in Sonoma Valley, which grows and sells premium grapes to a number of highly regarded wineries in Sonoma and Napa counties. 

A member of the Stockton University Board of Trustees in Pomona, New Jersey since 2007, Mady was Chairperson of the Board and Executive Committee from May 2015 - September 2018. In addition to her ongoing commitment to Stockton University, she sits on the board of the New Jersey state-mandated Association of State Colleges and Universities (NJASCU) and is a member of that association’s Budget and Audit Committee. 

Mady was a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley’s Institute of Governmental Studies from 2017 to 2019, where she explored the subject of Shared Governance in Higher Education. Ms. Deininger is the recipient of an Honorary Degree, Doctor of Humane Letters, from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. She is a member of the board of trustees of Stevenson School (Pre K - 12) in Pebble Beach, California, Maybeck High School in Berkeley, California and has been recently named to the National Advisory Board of the Institute of Governmental Studies at UC Berkeley.
