Regan Kin

Job title:
Class of 2025
Department:
2025 William K. (Sandy) Muir, Jr. Leadership Award
Bio/CV:

Regan Kin is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate earning a degree in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations and minors in Public Policy and Education.

Regan’s commitment to public service began with teaching, when she developed and led educational programming for young Albanian students at the U.S. Embassy’s American Corner in Tirana, Albania. This commitment took on new meaning as she focused on the legal field, furthering her experience in government service with internships at the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

At UC Berkeley, Regan serves as a caseworker and IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Site Coordinator at the ASUC Student Legal Clinic, conducting legal research and directing the clinic’s free tax preparation services for underserved community members. She is Director of the ASUC Vote Coalition and Co-Chair of the Chancellor’s Civic Engagement Committee, organizing large-scale voter registration events and teaching the Civic Engagement 101 DeCal to emphasize the value of youth civic participation. As a research apprentice for Professor Ryan Brutger, she studied how the American public’s perceptions of the World Trade Organization and the International Criminal Court are shaped, strengthening her desire to enter public service to learn more about the intersection between government decision-making, international institutions, and public opinion. To further this interest, Regan also helps advocate for consumer protection legislation through her internships at the UC Berkeley Law Center for Consumer Law & Economic Justice and the California Low-Income Consumer Coalition.

After graduation, Regan will work at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles before attending law school. She aims to build a legal career grounded in public interest advocacy, continuing to uplift underserved communities and promote access to justice.
