Growing up in a family restaurant, I witnessed firsthand the power of capitalism, which was often hailed as a symbol of equality. From a young age, I took on responsibilities, standing on an upside-down milk crate to take orders. It became a norm for me, shaping my understanding of the world through the lens of immigrant labor and capitalism. However, as I grew older, I began to question the inherent injustices within this system, ones that had previously gone unnoticed. Seeking a path beyond the predetermined trajectory set before me, I embarked on a journey of exploration, from teaching art to adults to teaching children how to swim, and even fighting fires as a licensed California firefighter 1 and 2. However, I yearned to be part of something greater, eager to contribute to a meaningful cause. Along the way, I learned invaluable lessons about courage, integrity, and honor, which became guiding principles in my life. Each day brought new insights and challenges, fostering a keen eye for recognizing injustice and a desire to effect change within our society. I am passionate about dismantling the barriers of political obstruction and harmful biases that impede social advancement. To this end, I aim to contribute to research and develop strategies that promote inclusivity, equity, and forward-thinking policies. By examining ways to mitigate these obstacles, I hope to drive our nation toward a more united and prosperous future.
