Fall 2023 IGS Library Exhibit: Inclusive Democracy

Photo of display case in IGSL

To coincide with the September 21, 2023 IGS event: Advancing Multiracial Democracy in California-Pathways to the 2024 Election, the IGS Library has on display a selection of materials that provide research on multiracial democracy and proportional representation in the United States.

Materials were selected from the early 1900's to present day to show how this topic has been studied over the years.  Some highlights include a pamphlet on preferential voting and proportional representation from 1914 and a book regarding racial realignment and American liberalism. Also featured are IGS Co-Directors Cristina Mora’s book Making Hispanics and Erik Schickler’s book Racial Realignment.  A complete bibliography of items on display is available here

Check out these books!
