Bio/CV:

Lesly Silva Rosales, is a first-generation Mexican-American student at UC Berkeley pursuing a major in Legal Studies. As a Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholar, she is passionate about immigration law and public service, driven by her commitment to uplift immigrant and working-class communities like the one that raised her.

Growing up as the daughter of Mexican immigrants, she witnessed firsthand the barriers that limit access to justice and opportunity. These experiences inspired her to pursue a career in immigration law, where she hopes to advocate for equitable policy reform and empower families navigating complex legal systems.

At UC Berkeley, she serves as a Financial Aid Caseworker and Winter Break Housing Policy Coordinator in the ASUC Student Advocates Office, where she helps students address financial aid and housing challenges. I also teach citizenship classes at East Bay Sanctuary Covenant, supporting asylees, as they prepare for the U.S. naturalization test and access community resources.

In addition, she's worked as an Election Poll Worker and participated in UC Berkeley’s Democracy Camp Fellowship, where she explored careers in public service, policy, and law.

Lesly's interests include immigration law, public policy, language justice, and civic participation. Her ultimate goal is to become an immigration attorney dedicated to reforming policy and amplifying the voices of the underrepresented communities that are the backbone of this country. She lives by the belief that a true advocacy means empowering others and she strives to lead with empathy, intentionality, and service.
