Megan Collins manages the Matsui Center's student programs, providing professional development, experiential training, and advising for Cal undergraduates who are interested in public service. Her portfolio includes the Cal-in-Sacramento Fellowship, the Leonard D. Schaeffer Fellows in Government Service program, the Washington Fellowship, and Democracy Camp, the Matsui Center's dual public service bootcamp programs.
Megan has over a decade of professional higher education experience. Prior to joining IGS in 2021, she served as the project manager of The Shift Project at both UC Berkeley and the Harvard Kennedy School. Previously, Megan worked at the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment at Berkeley, first as a research assistant with the Center on Wage and Employment Dynamics, then as a program assistant and contracts and grants manager supporting cross-disciplinary staff and faculty research. Megan is a Berkeley native and graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in History in 2013.
