Rungsiri Upradit (she/her)

Rungsiri Upradit was born in Thailand and immigrated to the United States at the age of five. She is passionate about doing work that will uplift and empower the community in the areas of housing sustainability, the environment, and public health. She participated in the Public Policy & International Affairs (PPIA) Fellowship at the Goldman School of Public Policy, where she engaged in intensive coursework covering topics such as Inequality & Economics, Policy Analysis, Quantitative Methods, and Law. As a fellow, she had the privilege of writing a policy memo aimed at assisting underserved communities in Berkeley. Additionally, she worked as a Program Liaison at an environmental justice nonprofit, Brightline Defense, where she supported a workforce development initiative for youth in San Francisco and an air quality monitoring program that measures black carbon levels in densely populated, low-income neighborhoods. Having raised her daughter as a single mother in San Francisco, she has been able to benefit from programs and resources that enabled her to continue her education. This has inspired her to pursue a career in public service. She believes that providing people with resources and opportunities will have a positive impact on her community as a whole. She aspires to pursue a Master's Degree in Public Policy to acquire the skills needed to effect positive change.
