Helia Moeini (she/her)
Helia is a third-year majoring in Political Science and minoring in Politics, Philosophy, and Law. She is passionate about examining American politics, particularly Congress, in an effort to understand how the system operates and how it can be reformed to better serve the needs of the mass public. Other than research, she cares deeply about helping underrepresented communities using her interest in the law. At the ASUC Student Legal Clinic, Helia takes on any client with a legal issue, providing them with legal information to navigate their complex situations successfully. As a JusticeCorps member, she furthers her work by assisting self-represented litigants in domestic violence restraining orders and housing matters. She also represents Berkeley student needs as a Deputy Director for the ASUC Federal Governmental Relations Office. Helia hopes to continue her advocacy for underserved communities by going to law school.
