Kristel’s interest in medicine began as a child when her father's rare genetic disease caused blindness. His diagnosis of Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) ignited her passion for understanding the unseen world, how small life forms impact our daily lives. At UC Berkeley’s Herbert Wertheim’s School of Optometry and Vision Science Kristel is able to work at the Puthussery & Taylor Lab where she is a research assistant on leading therapeutics for RP.

Jenny Dang is a first-generation Vietnamese American studying political science and public policy. She has a passion for community organizing and has been involved in a variety of organizations throughout her academic journey. After graduation, she hopes to continue her work in policy at the federal level working on areas such as affordable housing or public health with the hope to do her part in uplifting marginalized communities.

Harrison Dargahi is a fourth-year Afghan-Iranian transfer student at the University of California, Berkeley, where he studies Political Science and Russian Literature. Raised in a mixed household in Southern California, Harrison’s interests lie in public service, immigration advocacy, and supporting the communities that have shaped him.
