Educated at New College, Oxford University and the University of Pennsylvania, Dr Daniel Stedman Jones is a historian specialising in 20th Century American and British policy and economic thought. He is the author of Masters of the Universe: Hayek, Friedman and the Birth of Neoliberal Politics (Princeton: 2012).
Stedman Jones completed his doctorate at Penn in 2009, which was supervised by Professor Michael Katz. While at Penn, he also focused on Political Theory, US politics and history and Urban Studies. Prior to Penn, Stedman Jones worked for the think tank, Demos, and as a policy adviser at the New Opportunities Fund.
Stedman Jones is also a barrister working in Lincoln's Inn, London and specialising in public law with a focus on environmental and planning law.
