Former Congresswoman Jane Harman served in the House from 1993 to 1999 and 2001 to 2011. During her nine terms in Congress representing Southern California, Harman served on all the major security committees: Armed Services, Intelligence, and Homeland Security. She was chair of the Intelligence and Terrorism Risk Assessment Subcommittee. She made numerous Congressional fact-finding missions to hotspots around the world, including North Korea, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen and Guantanamo Bay to assess threats against the U.S.
Harman currently serves as Director, President and CEO of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C. The Wilson Center brings together scholars and experts from around the world for research, discussion, and study.
