Nancy Kim is a junior from Dublin, Ohio studying Economics and Media Studies. Her career interests include equitable economic and workforce development policies. After graduation, she hopes to combine her communications and policy background to implement programs that not only promote economic well-being, but also focus on raising marginalized communities.
Nancy currently serves as the Chief Communications Officer for the ASUC, working to connect Cal students with campus resources. In this role, she plans outreach events and collaborates with other ASUC officials to publish public statements. She previously interned at the California Department of Finance, analyzing higher education equity data, contextualizing the California transfer process and providing recommendations to improve transfer and graduation rates. Interested in the impact of technology on minority-owned small businesses, Nancy researched how delivery apps impacted restaurant owners of color by conducting interviews through the Diversity and Entrepreneurship fellowship. This summer, Nancy hopes to gain a deeper understanding on how government entities provide accessible resources to uplift communities.
