Sonnie Martinez is a junior at UC Berkeley majoring in Political Science with a specialization in American Politics and minoring in Chicana/o Studies. She has previously interned with with the California State Legislature, nonprofit organizations and a Los Angeles City Councilmember. Sonnie hopes to learn about constituent relations, grassroots advocacy strategies, the ethics of policy making, and the process in which local government institutions assess the needs of its constituents. She is passionate about social justice and public policy and hopes to change the political and social landscape in underserved communities.
